Bookies William Hill are facing a monster Murray payout should he go on to win the Australian Open and he is now the 15/8 favourite from an original 6/1. Murray is 2/7 to beat David Ferrer and 11/8 to do so in straight sets.

“Murray is our biggest liability and Ferrer has done us no favours by dumping the top seed out of the tournament,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.
